Hi I'm Rutuja!

A design researcher driven by passion for problem-solving through human-centered design principles and systems approach. I believe in approaching challenges to uncover insights that drive innovative solutions, ultimately aligning with business goals. Drawing from my background in Industrial and Product Design, I bring a unique perspective to the table.

I specialize in crafting user-centric solutions, leveraging strategic design methodologies, and fostering design-led innovation. My expertise spans user research, user experience design, and human-computer interaction, allowing me to tackle diverse challenges with multidisciplinary approch.

As a designer, I thrive on observing human interactions with products, systems, and the world around them. These insights fuel my quest to create seamless interactions and memorable experiences through my projects. But beyond design, I see each day as an opportunity for personal growth and enjoyment.

Currently i am working as a Service Designer and UX Researcher at the Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation at Johns Hopkins University, I lead human-centered design research to help city governments tackle complex urban challenges. My work bridges research and strategy guiding teams through discovery, synthesis, and co-creation to develop resident-centered solutions. From conducting in-depth qualitative research and facilitating collaborative workshops to developing customer journeys, process maps and visual frameworks, I help cities translate insights into action and help to strengthen local innovation capacity, build cross-department collaboration, and embed creative problem-solving within everyday government practice.

Outside of work, I like to travel, bike, cook, hike, photography, and get lost in nature.
